DeskPort is designed with privacy at its core. Your invoice and agency data files are processed locally in your browser and are NOT stored on our servers. When you log out, all uploaded data is automatically deleted.
1. Information We Collect
A. Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Name (optional, for invoice generation)
- Payment information (processed securely by Stripe)
- Business information (optional, for invoices)
B. Usage Data
We automatically collect:
- Browser type and version
- Device information
- IP address
- Pages visited and features used
- Login timestamps
C. Files You Upload
Important: Invoice and agency Excel files you upload are:
- Processed entirely in your browser (client-side)
- NOT uploaded to or stored on DeskPort servers
- Automatically deleted when you log out or close your browser
- Never accessible to DeskPort staff or third parties
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the Service
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send important account and billing notifications
- Respond to customer support requests
- Improve and optimize the Service
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Storage and Security
A. Your Invoice Data
- Storage: Temporary, browser-only (localStorage/sessionStorage)
- Duration: Until you log out
- Server Access: None - DeskPort servers never see your invoice files
B. Your Account Data
- Storage: Securely stored on Netlify servers
- Encryption: All data encrypted in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest
- Access: Limited to authorized personnel only
C. Payment Data
- Processor: Stripe (PCI DSS compliant)
- Storage: DeskPort does NOT store credit card numbers
- Security: Stripe handles all payment security
4. Third-Party Services
DeskPort uses the following third-party services:
- Netlify: Website hosting
- Stripe: Payment processing and subscription management
These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them:

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in these circumstances:

- Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or government request
- Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- Protection: To protect the rights, property, or safety of DeskPort, our users, or others
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
- Export: Download your account information
- Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails (account emails cannot be disabled)
- Complaint: File a complaint with a data protection authority

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
DeskPort uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you logged in
- Remember your preferences
- Analyze how you use the Service
- Improve user experience
You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect Service functionality.
8. Data Retention
- Invoice/Agency Files: Deleted immediately upon logout (not stored on servers)
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active
- After Account Deletion: Personal data deleted within 30 days, except as required by law
- Payment Records: Retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance
9. Children's Privacy
DeskPort is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover we have collected data from a child, we will delete it immediately.
10. International Users
DeskPort is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the new policy on this page
- Updating the "Effective Date" at the top
- Sending an email notification to your registered email address
Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
